37. The road trip to SD

Part of the fun in building a racecar is in the finding, ordering, making and installing. This post is about the getting. We rented a truck from Enterprise. Good people with good vehicles. Very friendly and my experience was wonderful. We decided to drive the road less traveled and headed to Glamis. This is the mecca for sand rails and anything with sand tires. 36. The real deal!

I placed my order. Waited for 4 weeks. Got the call and drove to San Diego and finally got my roll cage! It's in pieces but this means I am really on my way to a racecar. If you know a welder, a good welder, in the Phoenix area, let me know.

35. Rollin to the roll cage

Just got word that the roll cage is ready for pickup. Next week we go and get it. It's official. The build begins! keep watching for updates. Finally, the 2.5rs will start to transform.

33. First Saturday of the month.

If you visit Phoenix, make sure your trip covers the first Saturday of any month. You can visit the Coffee & Cars at 6-8am at the Hyatt Gainey Shops. Then in the afternoon you can go to the McDonalds Rock & Roll Car Show. It will be the best Saturday of your life. Check out the links. You will thank me.

32. Nico call it quits

Nico Rosberg quits F1 in a stunning announcement 5 days after winning the Formula 1 championship. I say good on ya! He's been in the Formula one circus for ten years and now wants time to raise his family. I think thats great. When you reach the mountain top the only thing left to do is come down and look for another mountain. I hope he continues to race in some form or another. Hey Nico! Want to sponsor my race team?
